From yarn to heirloom

Meet the hands and heritage behind every handcrafted rug.

1

Material Dyeing

The journey of every rug begins with colour. Raw fibres are immersed in carefully prepared dye baths, where artisans control temperature and timing to achieve rich, lasting hues that remain vibrant for generations.

2

Colour Matching

Before a single thread is woven, our master craftsmen prepare a precise colour-matching reference — a curated palette box that guides both the dyeing and weaving process, ensuring every shade aligns perfectly with the original design.

3

Weaving

Skilled weavers in Bhadohi bring the design to life — knot by knot, row by row. Each rug is hand-woven on traditional looms with patience and precision, honouring generations of craft passed down through families.

4

Washing

Once woven, every rug is thoroughly washed to bring out its natural softness and vibrancy. This essential step removes residual fibres, sets the colours, and gives the rug its characteristic lustre and texture.

5

Binding

The edges of each rug are carefully bound by hand to ensure durability and a clean, refined finish. This step secures the weave and gives the rug its structured, long-lasting border.

6

Clipping

Expert craftsmen clip the pile across the surface with precision shears, levelling uneven threads and defining the pattern. This careful process brings sharpness and clarity to every motif and design detail.

7

Finishing

The rug undergoes a final finishing process — stretching, blocking, and surface refinement — to achieve an even, flawless texture. This is where the rug transforms from a woven piece into a gallery-ready heirloom.

8

Packing

Each rug is carefully inspected, rolled, and packed with care — ready to travel from our looms in Bhadohi to your home. Every piece leaves our workshop as it was made: with pride and attention to detail.
