From Yarn to Heirloom: Our 8-Step Rug Making Process
Every rug from Bhadohi, India's famous Carpet City, begins as raw fibre and ends as a lasting piece of art. Meet the hands and heritage behind every handcrafted rug, from the first dye bath to the final packing.

Step 1Material Dyeing
Every handwoven rug starts with colour. Raw wool and fibres go into carefully prepared dye baths, where artisans control temperature and timing. The result is rich, long-lasting colour that stays vibrant for generations.
-
2
Step 2Colour Matching
Before weaving starts, our master craftsmen prepare a colour-matching palette box. It guides both the dyeing and the weaving, so every shade matches the original rug design exactly.
-
3
Step 3Hand Weaving
Skilled weavers in Bhadohi bring the design to life knot by knot, row by row. Each rug is handwoven on a traditional loom, using techniques passed down through families for generations.

Step 4Washing
After weaving, each rug is washed thoroughly. This brings out its natural softness, removes loose fibres, sets the colours and gives the rug its characteristic lustre.
-
5
Step 5Binding
The edges are bound by hand for durability and a clean finish. This secures the weave and gives the rug a strong, long-lasting border.
-
6
Step 6Clipping
Expert craftsmen clip the pile with precision shears. This levels the surface and sharpens every motif, so the pattern stands out clearly.
-
7
Step 7Finishing
Stretching, blocking and surface refinement give the rug an even, flawless texture. This is where a woven piece becomes a gallery-ready heirloom.

Step 8Quality Check & Packing
Each rug is inspected, rolled and packed with care. It then travels from our looms in Bhadohi to your home, anywhere in India or abroad.
